CASE STUDY: PAUSOLOGY

The founders of Pausology, previously Menopause Jewelbox, had been running workshops to inform and educate People With Ovaries (PWO) about menopause and perimenopause for about three years. When we met, they wanted to scale their digital offerings and be able to grant access to information, vetted resources, and educational content that could ease PWOs’ anxieties about entering into a pretty certain yet unfamiliar phase of life. Beyond convening small groups of women once a month, the founders were already working on developing an online course but were unsure about the rest of their strategy.

Who doesn’t love a good prototype ?

This was the flow that served as a blueprint for building the Assessment Tool you’ll find in the Pausology’s site.

It basically helps users determine in what hormonal stage they find themselves through a series of questions, with 18 different stages / answers the user could arrive to.

We were thrilled to be able to map Dr. Claudia Levine’s knowledge into this app, developed by Nico Brülhmann.

Our role in this project encompassed the following services:

  • Research — We conducted one-on-one interviews with women of diverse backgrounds and ages and ran a 300-person survey to determine pain points and gaps in the framework and assumptions of the project

  • Brand Strategy (including re-naming) — We ran a series of workshops with our clients, and using classic methodologies of inquiry, we created a Design Brief that served as the guiding document for the project

  • Design — We assembled a team of designers, copywriters, developers, and illustrators to create a distinctive visual identity and a clear communication and messaging strategy

  • Implementation — We developed tools to address every touchpoint we thought necessary: website, assessment tools, a community forum, and the course (which has an audio component), plus an accompanying workbook, resources, and next steps.
